“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few” (Matthew 9:37). When Jesus spoke this, He didn’t just tell the disciples to go and get the harvest. He gave them a specific prayer strategy: pray to the Lord of the Harvest to send forth laborers. This tells us something important about prayer—it’s not random; it’s intentional. When we pray for the harvest, we’re not just asking for revival; we’re asking for skilled laborers to step into their calling. These are people equipped in the word and the flow of the Holy Spirit, ready to bring refreshing to the places God sends them.
Prayer for the harvest requires focus, not just throwing people out there and hoping for results. It’s about calling, equipping, and releasing those who will respond to God’s invitation with obedience, speed, and preparation. The harvest needs your attention in prayer to bring forth the laborers who will advance His kingdom. Have you answered the call to pray for the harvest?
